|Cheesecake Farms Bed and Breakfast Awarded Virginia Green Certification|
Cheesecake Farms Bed and Breakfast has been awarded "Virginia Green" certification.
The certification acknowledges the commitment that Cheesecake Farms has in providing guests with environmentally friendly lodgings that minimize environmental impact.
To be considered for certification, Cheesecake Farms owner, Karla Seidita, filled out a lengthy application that explored many areas of impact including on site recycling, solid waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency and sustainable practices such as purchasing locally produced goods and supplies. Also included were questions about organic practices for garden and landscape, protecting or enhancing the wild life habitat and educating guests about environmental impact.
"We're proud of our efforts to help keep Virginia green and are thrilled that this certification," said Seidita. "It tells every one of the extra steps we take. Living green is easy once you get into the habit and working with our natural environment instead of against it benefits us all, both now and in the future."
The certification is awarded through a joint project of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Virginia is for Lovers Tourist Office and the Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association.
Cheesecake Farms Bed and Breakfast is located on 25 rural acres in Sumerduck, (Fauquier County) Virginia. It is an agri-educational farm for refreshment and learning.
